School Of NursingToday,the art of nursing is a dynamic, therapeutic and educative process in meeting the health care requirement of each individual, family and also the community. The nursing department functions hand in hand with other healthcare agencies in assisting individuals, families and communities to achieve and maintain desirable standards of health. Since nurses play a major role in maintanance of health care, the training should equip them with professional expertise to meet the changing trend and demands of the society and their expanding role therein. InaugurationTo facilitate for the above stated goal, Arafa Medical Mission Hospital started General Nursing and Midwifery Course. Here , the students receive additional training from Doctors and other experts in all fields of medical care. They are trained to use various sophisticated machineries like cardiac monitors, , defibrillators and other equipment in various branches of health care system. Arafa School of Nursing is recognized by the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council, started functioning in the year 2006 with an annual intake of 20 students. In the first batch there were 17 girls and 3 boys. The 2nd batch of GNM course, 16 girls & 4 boys, commenced classes in october 2007.Currently,admission procedure for the third batch of General Nursing & Midwifery Course is is on progress. All students undergo training in ICUs and other specialized areas in the Hospital. Arafa School of Nursing also provides well-arranged hostel facilities for both male and female candidates. They are under the care of a resident tutor and a warden. Faculty and Facilities
The faculty of Arafa School of Nursing is well qualified and experienced, consisting of the Principal, Vice-Principal, Tutors and other Staff who offer guidance and supervision to students in various clinical areas. A Library with a wide range of books and magazines, for reference and reading, is available in the Nursing School premises. Arafa School of Nursing is furnished with modern Laboratories like Nursing Lab, Nutrition Lab, Anatomy Lab and Community Lab. A Student Nurses Association unit functions for the up-gradation of curricular and extra-curricular activities.
